    Hi,

Currently we select “Post Type Archive” as Display Result, it looks great. But it sent the result back to the Post Type Archive (Deals), of course. http://spavelous.com/dealscategory/daily-deals-arizona/

But we really want for the user to stay at this dealscategory (in our case Arizona).

But if we sent the user to the custom URL, then we lose the theme.

Can you offer us some suggestions, how can we deal with this issue?

    Much Appreciated

    Marie

    Hi

Sorry we did not pick this thread up earlier. I will be handling it now. Are you saying that you have a search that appears on various pages, let’s say ‘Deals Arizona’, ‘Deals California’, etc but that when the results are submitted, they always go back to a general deals page?

But we do see our site do run slower after installing this plugin, do you have any suggestion to keep the site run faster?

The speed depends on your host/hosting package, server resources and how many posts you have in the posts table. Inevitably, S&F has to ask WordPress to go filtering through posts to find the ones you want. That takes CPU time and will be making calls to the system hard drive. If those resources are shared (as they would be on standard reseller and shared hosting packages), this will slow things down. OTOH, if you have a VPS (or dedicated server) you should have one or more dedicated CPU cores. If the hard disc is a traditional disc, or even an array of them, that is slower than using SSD drives.

If you don’t have a wordpress cache though ….

My recommendation goes, ATM, to CometCache. The pro version runs the site even faster as it can combine and minify files and shunt some assets off to load in the footer.

I’m assuming this increase is on pages that contain the S&F form itself?

S&F should not be running anything on pages without with search form or search results

    Thanks

It is a great idea. Is this automatic or do we need to do something to the settings
