Hi, is it possible to use the searchbox that looks only into a specific custom field made with ACF?

    example:
    http://www.movie-time.it/

I’m rebuilding this website, and I need 3 different search:
1 for director that search only in the director ACF field
    1 for starring
    1 for titles

    thanks in advance

    Hey Michele

S&F doesn’t support multiple search boxes – you can only use one in a search form.

If you want this search field to search inside custom fields then you must combine it with Relevanssi –

Alternatively, to get something a bit similar, you could choose a post meta field, choose the choice tab, and then choose a dropdown or multiselect input type.

Then you can enable combobox – which would get a similar effect to the movies demo:

    Thanks

    Hey Michele

What happens when you disable ajax?

I think divi needs to run some javascript when the new results are loaded, to process those shortcodes correctly and hide them from the screen.

    Thanks

    Hi Ross,
with Ajax disabled everything wors fine! thanks a lot.

    What about my previous question?

If I creat multiple ACF for starring, example:
    Starring1
    starring2
    Starring3
    starring4

Theres a way to tell to the Starring multiselect filed to look into multiple ACF fileds?

    Hey Michele

I’m afraid not, 1 field can use 1 meta key/custom field

So you will have to think about how you can maybe create a new type of custom field that will do what you need.

    Are the starring1, starring2 fields etc for ratings? ie – 1 – 5 star?

Then you could just use a number field, and have the value b e anything from 1 to 5.

    Thanks

Hi Ross, it is just to research the actors.
How can I accomplish this… is driving me crazy.

I think I’m going to fix this with a normal search box with heading Starring …
