    The refresh works a few times, then stops. I tried adding a reset button, but the same happens. I’m not sure how to proceed because I would think the refresh would either work or not work, not work, then stop working.

    Ah yes

    This is because your results container (defined in the Display Results tab) is set to #primary

    #primary actually contains your search form too – you can’t actually have your search form inside the results area, because when new content is fetched after a search, the search form itself is also replaced – which breaks the functionality.
