    Hey

I’m trying to set up the search exactly like in the demo
    http://demo.designsandcode.com/sfpro-movie-reviews/

I need only live (Ajax) search without any filters, but my feed always has posts from different categories (which also look differently).

So, I guess I need to choose ‘Post Type Archive’ in Display Results tab, but when I do it – even the initial feed shows only one category posts. The search seems to work incorrectly as well.

To make it short: how do I make the search from the demo for multiple categories?

P.S. The ‘Archive’ type search (reloading the page) works. I have problems only with the stuff above.

Well you know, everything’s not that good. It seems like other display types work incorrectly too. Anyway, I’ve tested the plugin on a default theme and it shows the same strange results.
It refreshes and does something, but the results are not even closely related to the keyword. And there is no way of getting a ‘No results’ message like in the demo.

Probably the best option would be if the developers could tell, which settings they used on that demo I mentioned above.

    Hey Mikh

Do sorry to hear you’re having trouble configuring.

Shall we do a test with the 2014 theme – I’ll then talk you through what I’ve done on our demo site and hopefully that way you can get an idea of how to setup correctly?

    Thanks

    Hi Mikh

Ok so starting from a clean WP install, with 2014 enabled.

    Steps are as follows:

    Create search form:
    1) Create a new search form
    2) untick “pages”, and search only in the “posts”
    3) under the display results tab, make sure “As an Archive” is selected
    4) ensure template is either search.php or archive.php
    5) set a slug for your page
    6) Untick “only use ajax on the results page”
    7) ensure results container is #content and pagination is .pagination a – this is the correct setting for the 2014 theme
    8) add your field to the UI
    9) Save/publish

    Add Search form to sidebar:
    1) in admin, goto Appearance -> widgets
    2) add S&F widget to Content Sidebar
    3) choose the search form you have created from the dropdown

    And, that should be it!

Let me know if you encounter any issues and send me a link if you do.

Just to note, the layout on the 2014 theme is a custom layout I created just for movies, but your search.php or archive.php templates should work fine.

    Thanks
