As long as it is relatively standard copy of WPBakery Page Builder (some themes bundle Page Builder ‘free’, but heavily modify it to the extent that our extension will not work), we now have an integration plugin for WPBakery Page Builder. The Search & Filter WPBakery Page Builder Extension can be downloaded and then installed from clicking the big blue button (you need to be logged in to see it) at the top of the guide page:

And then follow that guide.
If that is what you have done, and if your copy of WPBakery Page Builder came bundled with your theme, what theme is it?
The best clue if it will work is to start to add an element to a page, and, when the elements list comes up, see if the standard post modules are present, as shown in this screenshot:

If the elements dialog does not look like this, it likely means it will not work.
