Unable to search via drop-down against taxonomy - Search & Filter Support

I am not able to get a drop-down search via taxonomies to work. Items appear in the drop-down, but a (0) beside each term is shown and when selecting a term no results are found,

I have installed and configured Relevanssi to include my custom post types (‘companies’) and have cleared the cache for WordPress and re-built the index.
