Hi there,
First off, thanks for the amazing plugin!
Everything is going swell, except for one point, and unfortunately, it’s exactly the point that needs to be present.
This site is for movie releases and each custom post type of “movie” has a custom field “release date”. this field needs to be searchable, and I’ve included it in the search widget, but it doesn’t return any data.
Can you let me know if I’m doing something wrong and what info you need to troubleshoot this?
Thanks so much!Ross Moderator(Private) October 11, 2015 at 8:39 pm #27047Hey Ronel,
The only thing I can think of is how are you storing the data for your custom field?
Can you provide a sample of the data direct from the DB so I can see how it is working?
You should be saving you date data as either linux timestamp or in the format YYYYMMDD – other formats are not supported.
Thanks

I urgenlty need help with this please. The rest of the website is complete, it’s now only this “search by release date function” that we need to complete before we can sign off the design. Please can you advise if you need any more info? We send credentials, so urgently waiting for your response.
Anonymous(Private) October 22, 2015 at 3:04 pm #27978Jeepers, you know I just tried that combo, and it didn’t work for me. (I have to create a separate widget that only asks for date range). I created a new widget called “Just Date”, and it’s definitely not pulling through correctly (although it is pulling through!)
Just to confirm, I’m saving the ACF field data value as YYYMMDD, displaying it as dd/mm/yy in the ACF side of things.
When i create the widget, I choose the correct custom field (new_release_date) and change it to YYYYMMDD (ACF).
I’ve saved three posts using this new field (although the data doesn’t seem to stay put!) and when I try and search it doesn’t work.
