Hi, today we update the plugin from version 2.4 to 2.5.2. and we lost the format on our page.
The plugin was set up by a previous employee and I can’t find the error.
The format shall look like this:

    https://mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/max_1200/1e016c70967919.5bb6603ec9f52.jpg

    but it displays like:

we are in a bit of a rush. I can give you access if it helps.

    Thanks

I see what has happened. The critical factor to recovery is whether you have a site backup of files before the plugin update was performed.

I will explain. Our plugin files are located on your server in this location:

    …/wp-content/plugins/search-filter-pro

There you will find a sub-folder named templates and in that a file named results.php.

    This documentation:

    https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/search-results/using-a-shortcode/#customising-the-results

tells the user to copy that file to their child theme folder, and place it in to a sub-folder that they should name search-filter

Note that it is always good practice to use a child theme (this is a WordPress recommendation), as it stops updates of a theme from overwriting or deleting any changes and customizations).

Similarly, if you fail to make that copy of the result.php template file and make your edits to that, then, when our plugin updates, it will overwrite the results.php file in our plugin templates folder.

The result would be what you have seen. So, recovery of that file is crucial.

Hi Trevor, seems like my replay never got recorded.

I did try what you suggest. But it only work partially. The format of the results work but the format of the search UI inputs still showed as one single list and not as per categories.

I finally went back and recover the previous version of the we with the old plugin and things look like they should. Unfortunately now I can’t change the settings on my search forms.

    Any more ideas?

    Thank you
