I made a few changes to that post you refer to. Unfortunately, Essential Grid does a lot of changes to the grid when Ajax is triggered, and whilst I might be able to write some JavaScript to overcome this, that would not be reliable, so for now Ajax must be OFF, sorry.
I have changed the form accordingly, and it seems now to work for me.

It looks like formatting the meta data is still an issue. The options are showing with weird formatting – brackets and quotation marks added around the data.
Is it possible to set a starting filter using your plugin, for example when the page initially loads only films from “Festival Year 2020” will display?
I was also having issues with WordPress’ built-in search function so I installed the Ivory Search plugin to get better results. Is it possible to either enable your built in “search” button to work with Ivory Search or to add an Ivory Search field to the form rather than the default?
Trevor(Private) November 17, 2020 at 2:24 pm #266741The formatting issue will be something inside Essential Grid, as we do not control the layout or content of the results, only which posts are displayed.
Ivory Search and Search & Filter not work together, we have not tested it. We do offer official support for Relevanssi though:

Make sure you set it up correctly, as you have to get it to build its own index once setup.
