I am wanting to search tags as I’m using it to display locations and have added the zip codes for the locations in the blog post tags. When I do a search by zip code it returns no result found. Does this search tags also?

    – Here is the page with search form – https://silverback-selfdefense.com/sample-page-2/

    – The search form is set to only look at posts with Locations as Category. I didn’t set anything for the tags field because I don’t want to have to remember to add a zip code each time we add a location.

    – Here is the result page – https://silverback-selfdefense.com/TEST

    – I have a blog post with with Locations set as Category and 77494, 77450, 77094, 77077, 77079, 77493 set as tags – https://silverback-selfdefense.com/katy-texas/

If you want the text search to look there, then note that our plugin does not directly allow you to do text searches of individual Post Meta (custom fields) and Taxonomy (Category, Tags and Taxonomies) data/terms. The Search & Filter Pro Text Search field uses the standard WordPress search, so looks only in the Post Title and Content. To help you control this better, on the form’s Advanced settings tab you will see 2 settings for Relevanssi.

The documentation for this is here:

    https://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/3rd-party/relevanssi/

You would need to install and activate the free Relevanssi plugin as well.

Then set Relevanssi up and build its index (make sure it is indexing the desired post types, custom fields AND any taxonomy that you want to search).

I will try that but really confused on the Tags, categories and taxonomy section that says “Include or Exclude results with specific tags, categories and taxonomy terms.”. What is the purpose of this section then?

That is if you want to include a few of the terms, or exclude a few of the terms. By definition, any post that does not have a term that is ‘included’ will not be shown.

how do i get the results of all posts included. e.g. every post from category1 OR everything from category3 and category4. At the moment unless post has BOTH category1 AND category2 it does not show which I think is incorrect behavier?
