    On first load I would like to have the most recent posts, but then have a filter, ideally radio buttons of the years the posts cover.

    In other words I would like a list of years in radio buttons in the Search Form UI.

    Achievable?

    Only if you have a custom field with the year of each post. Our plugin cannot (currently) extract the Year from the Post Date (or any other date field). Going forward, you could autopopulate that field with the year with some custom code* in the child theme functions.php file.

    I think what you want WILL become possible in V3 of our plugin (but that is still many weeks away).

    I was thinking that might be what I need to do.

    May I say, you are a quality developer my friend, I really appreciate the speed at which you reply and the fact that you are always so helpful and knowledgeable.

    Hence why the Search Filter Pro plugin is such a great plugin.
