In selecting the Meta Key name, note a ‘gotcha’ with ACF ….

… it makes 3 meta keys per field, like this (in this example for a field named ‘event_starts’):

#1 _event_starts
#2 field_5552470bffad9
#3 event_starts

In our Meta Key selection list, you need to use key #3, without the underscore at the start of the key name. If you choose #1 by mistake, in the field choices you will see the name of #2

I will fix this in the places you have used this key (the order and post conditions).

Will this sort in order using the event start ACF field when the user clicks on one of the custom taxonomies on the sidebar?

Also can it use the same page as it does now for events the category.php? or should I make a new page for it?

I went to the page https://justawebbie.com/category/events/ and I noticed it still is not counting the posts and showing it up next to the checkbox taxonomies. Is there something I did wrong still?
