This is how we want it to work:

#1 : If user selects item from any of the three drop-downs, it returns results for the most recent selection. If Situation is set to “Current Events,” it returns items tagged with “Current Events.” If I do NOT reset Situation, and I select “Distribution & Logistics” from Industry, it resets and returns items tagged with “Distribution & Logistics.” In other words, anytime the user selects a new item from any of the drop-down boxes, the most recent selection is the only one that matters. The problem is that sometimes (randomly) the other drop-downs do not reset and sometimes (randomly) they do. We’d like to figure out how to make it consistent.

#2 : A) If the user types a term into the search bar, we would LIKE it to have an option for the user to either “Search Within the Results” or “Global Search.” It would be great if the user could put “COVID” into the search bar and select a checkbox for “search within existing results” or “new search.” B) BUT if that is not possible, our second option would be for it to be an OR as well. In that less preferred option, that would basically take the “global search” approach where it resets all results and returns the search term’s results for all items (not restricted by the drop-down selections).
