    Hi
I would like to use the taxonomy-field multiple times (like 6 times) to layout the search form (give it a structure) like this (with attachement-tag & attachement-category):

    HEADING
    attachement-tags (exclude some of them)

    HEADING
    attachement-tags (exclude some of them)

    HEADING
    attachement-category (exclude some of them)

    HEADING
    attachement-category (exclude some of them)

I can do it three, sometimes 4 times – then it doesn’t work. Is there a limit?

You can use each data source just once. Otherwise, you must create separate taxonomies for each group of terms. You can use a plugin called Taxonomy Switcher to move the terms.

thanks for the quick reply. I looked for the pluging – I found one, updated 3 years ago. Could you possibly name an alternative?

That is it – it is the only one that does this for you. It doesn’t need updating. It is a ‘use once – then remove’ plugin. It’s code is really simple and provides no security risk. It uses a feature in WordPress not changed for a very long time.

You do not lose the terms when you do this process. The process is generally reversible, but taking a database backup first is the best thing to do. It is also a quick process. How many terms do you currently have?

On the other hand, if it works for you now, maybe there is no need to change.
