I am using the shortcode to display the results and it seems to work fine in Firefox but in Chrome all I get is No Results Found. Can you please help?

I’ve just been doing a little more testing and it would seem that if I am logged out of the admin area it doesn’t work at all in any browser.

I have just realised that no results are showing as all of my posts are private, password protected. I have selected Private under the Posts tab but still they don’t show up in the search results. Can you please help me sort this asap!

Do you want to show them to only those people who are logged in then?

It rather depends on how your password protection works. If any user can navigate to a page, and is then asked for a password to proceed, then this will be an issue.

    Hi Trevor

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I want everyone (both logged in and not logged in) to be able to search for them and click on the page, when they get to that page they then enter a password to access the content. I am using the default WordPress function of making a page private.

I think you may need to instead make them public but password protected, which may require a plugin to do.

When you make a page/post private, it disappears from view for anybody who is not a logged in ‘user’ on your site. This is a WordPress feature. If a user is logged in, then, if you have selected Private post status, then that user will see the posts, provided that the user role is allowed to view private posts.

Sorry, I think I confused my words previously. The posts are set to password protected, not private. Would this still affect the search functionality?

Yes, it would. Password protecting them will hide them. What is the password protection achieving (why are you using it)?

Ah ok. My client needs it for separate investment funds so customers can check for updates on their particular investment
