Forums › Forums › Search & Filter Pro › Search field and ACF meta data
Hi,
We are trying to make a search form that will also find values that are stored in ACF meta data. The exclude meta filters in the filter settings work really well, but only for specific values.
The website in question is selling cars, so an example would be to be able to search for a vehicle identification number in the search bar, and getting the car with that number as a result on my results page.
Any suggestions on how to establish this?
The Search & Filter Pro Text Search field uses the standard WordPress search, so looks only in the Post Title AND Content. To help you control this better, on the form’s Advanced settings tab you will see 2 settings for Relevanssi.
The documentation for this is here:
https://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/3rd-party/relevanssi/
You would need to install and activate the free Relevanssi plugin as well.
Then set Relevanssi up to look at that custom field and then build its index.
