Hello!
I recently purchased Search & Filter Pro to create a custom filter form on one of my sidebars. I do not use the search function, as my theme already has a pretty good search function built in.
Everything seems to be working perfectly on the filtering side, except an error message that does not go away in the Edit Search Form menu.
I get the following message when I check “Use a custom template for results?” (in Template Options): “Error: The custom template file
search.php
cannot be found”. When I uncheck the option, I get this message: “Notice: You have not specified a custom template file for your results – this may lead to unexpected behaviour when displaying your results”.In both cases, my filters work fine and do not behave strangely on the front-end. It’s just a pesky back-end notification that does not go away. Is there any way to correct whatever is triggering the notification?
Thank you!
Trevor(Private) March 11, 2019 at 8:53 am #204570You will be using the As an Archive display type. When you perform a search, does it go to a different page to show the results? Maybe a page that looks very much the same layout as the standard theme text search does? If so, that page must be using a results template of some type. This plugin may be able to tell you what the template file name is:

And you cannot make three fields in a single form based on the same object (e.g. Category). I can advise how to get around this, but this post will help I think:
