    This issue appears to have been related to using the ‘CPT-onomies’ plugin in place of the ‘Custom Post Type UI’ plugin.

    ‘CPT-onomies’ plugin also appeared to create a problem with the ‘Advanced Custom Fields’ plugin (couldn’t make appearance of field group dependent on taxonomy).

    As ‘CPT-onomies’ appears to be unsupported I have reverted to ‘Custom Post Type UI’ and ‘Search & Filter’ is back working as expected. 🙂
