    So far we have had success creating a unique search tool to use with WP Geodirectory. We found a new snag in the searches.

    Since these are business listings, the businesses get cranky if they are always below everyone else, so we use RANDOM. But, we also find that some listings will duplicate themselves when ajax refreshes.

    Initially we set the number of entries per scroll to 10. Then we set the number of listings to 25. Still no luck. If we set it to 50, there is less chance of duplication….but, then we’re stuck loading the extra entries on page load.

    Any suggestions of how we can tackle this issue with random listings and entries displaying more than once?

    Whilst it appears an odd thing to do, WordPress places a random assortment of posts on each page. So, yes, the same post can appear on multiple pages. With some incredibly complex coding it can be ‘fixed’ to work how you would expect it to.
