Hi,
Great filer, but for some reason it’s not working as I expected it would – I’m sure its just a setting ( I hope!)
2 questions:
1. I have a wine website (woocommerce). I want to be able to filter on ‘country’ as well as ‘type’. So I choose ‘France’ and after that I want to choose ‘red wine’. I’d expect that the filter would recount, showing me only red wines available in France, but the count in the filter shows all red wines… Also when I choose red wine, the filter doesnt work anymore
In the settings:
Both are normal product categories, I made 2 taxonomy filters and exluded all categories which dont belong in ‘country'(the types) and at ‘type’ I exclude all countries…I use Total theme
2. WHen I select something in the filter, there’s always a ?sortby=popularity parameter in the url. I dont want that to be there. It should sort on sort order as set in the woocommerce shop.
Trevor(Private) September 5, 2018 at 4:15 pm #187391You need to separate out groups, branches or parent/child tags into separate custom taxonomies. In general, you can use a particular Taxonomy, such as Product Category, (or Category/Tags, each Taxonomy and each Custom Field) only once in the form. This post tries to explain this a bit better (you can use a plugin to switch category terms from category to any new taxonomy that you make, so it is not so hard to do). It is a really awful preachy lecture I wrote:

Sorry about the tone, but the message is right and it links to good plugins (except taxonomy switcher I think).
