Searching on search results page - inconsistent /not changing results

Hello! Running into another issue:

Steps to replicate:

1 http://hilt.staging.wpengine.com/ – scroll down to form click what are your goals and select design a course and click submit http://nikib.ro/wn/screenshots/_Harvard_Initiative_for_Learning_and_Teaching_HILT_2018-08-27_14-48-41.jpg

2 – Try to refine search. In this case I unelected design a course and selected a specific school: http://nikib.ro/wn/screenshots/_Harvard_Initiative_for_Learning_and_Teaching_HILT_2018-08-27_14-49-36.jpg

3 – Try to refine the search again by checking different boxes. Search results to not change.

I’ve tried a combo of things and sometimes the search results update, sometimes they don’t. If I refresh the page with the URL parameters the correct results are returned. Any help is much appreciated!

One thing I can see from the video is that you must be using two search forms. One uses the slug /search and one does not.

Are you able to make the search form on the results page also use that slug?

Hi Trevor

It is a different form that has more taxonomies to filter with. Do I need to use the same form to refine the search?

Great to speak with you Niki. Two major things we did. One was to give the results block its own class to be able to target it for Ajax, and the other was to make the form on the Home Page a Custom display type. Now it works. I will close this thread for now.
