I’m trying to add a search field to my search filter UI, but it’s not showing up on the front end.

Space is made for it on the front end, and when I inspect the page it’s there (with no CSS hiding it, as far as I can tell), but it’s not clickable and it’s not displaying normally.

This is a redesign of a client site, currently live here: https://sandbox.thisisdime.com/companies/

If anyone can tell me why this isn’t showing up, and what to do to fix it, that would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, and just out of curiosity, I’m not able to update the plugin, despite having a valid license key in place. Is this due to the plugin also being used on my client’s actual live site, or is this another issue?

    Thank you for your assistance.

With regard to updates, our system will allow the site registered in Your Account to update, but development site versions will need to be done manually. If your development site is the one registered, then please get back to me on that.

Your site appears to be using Minimal Form Interface and that (somewhat indiscriminately) alters form elements, and in our case deletes the search box. I suspect it uses javascript to do this, so you would need to find the plugin or theme feature that does this and disable it.

    Thank you! That’s very helpful.

One last question – is it possible to get the filter box to “stick” to its spot on the page as a user scrolls down? I tried making this happen via CSS, however my attempt simply “broke” the page, so to speak.

    Thanks again.

It might be possible. I think you would need to look for a plugin that gives you a fixed sidebar, and add the form to that.
