    Hi,

    I am translating a website using your plugin, for this I have added label to a checkbox in the ACF fields. For ease of use and so I don’t have to manually select every value, it would be easy if we could filter on labels instead of the value of the ACF field.

    Is this possible in any way?

    What data is stored in the database, and in the post editor, what does the meta box with the user choices in look like? In the form you have it as a checkbox field, but in the post editor you could have it as a dropdown, where you would be permitted in ACF to create value/label pairs.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the fast response. I don’t completely understand, but I will give you an example of how it looks.

    In the custom post you have checkboxes, where you can choose the options that are linked to the post. For example in the English version you have: Floor, Ceiling,… And the ACF options field (for the Dutch translation) is build as:

    Floor : Vloer
    Ceiling : Plafond
    …

    (Vloer & Plafond are the labels (and translations) here).

    We would like to show “Vloer” and “Plafond” in the filter.

    Ah, you are storing the English value even in the dutch version of the post? Is there a reason for this instead of using a dutch word?

    Hi,

    Yes, because otherwise the ticked boxes aren’t checked for the custom post, because the value is changed, so I’ll have to recheck the boxes for every single post. So it would be easy if we could change the filter to use the labels instead of the values.

    If you used a translation plugin, it should have offered to translate the posts AND the field values for you?

    Yeah, we tried everything and didn’t find a way to translate the checkbox options. That’s why I wanted to know if it was possible to show the labels in the filter.

    If not I will just do everything manually.

    The only way (not necessarily ideal) is to switch to manual options mode in the form field for the translated form. Otherwise, I think this is a hole that the WPML translation misses (unless they have an optional addon for ACF).
