    Hi

I have a Woocommerce store that contains products organised into the standard categories and also assigned one or more “industry” taxonomies. I have created my own “taxonomy-industry.php” template which has the standard loop in it and that page shows the products that are assigned to this taxonomy – all fine. So for instance one Taxonomy page is called “Restaurants” and that shows products that are from 4 of the 15 total categories.

What I would like to do is show a checkbox filter on the sidebar which displays ONLY the matching categories (the 4) so my users can further filter these taxonomy results by the categories.

I cannot seem to get this working. I have it displaying the categories on the sidebar but it shows ALL the categories, I need it to just show the ones that contain products that also have a taxonomy assigned that matches whatever taxonomy archive page I am on.

    Any pointers? Thanks in advance.

Are you able to send me a live link/URL to your search page so I can take a look?

Maybe you could describe some searches and what I SHOULD see and what instead I DO see?

Is there a way of sending the link to you privately? It is a site in development for a client and they may not want it public right now.

Yes, at the bottom of the editor box here is a ‘Set as private reply’ option. Then only you and I can see it.

I have made a few changes. You needed to add the Industry taxonomy to the form so that it could auto detect it, and I have switched on Auto Count.

BTW, you can, if you need to, hide the Industry taxonomy field by using custom css to set it to display: none.

Ah brilliant thank you – that makes complete sense now. Cheers!
