My double category research doesn’t work, I have to qualify my first research as “authors” and second as “category” in order to make it work.
On my url, i have this : “…/?authors=bruchez-christian&_sft_category=conference”

Are you able to send me a live link/URL to your search page so I can take a look?

Can you give me an example search to do and detail what goes wrong?

    Hello,

You can see my issue here :

    https://www.waeberavocats.ch/publications/

” Avocats” and ” Type de document” are category. When you try to look for a ” Avocats” and a ” Typr de document” it’s impossible.

Isn’t possible to activate both ?

    Thank you.

Ah, I see the issue. You may need to re-structure your post meta/taxonomy data. In general, you can use a particular Taxonomy (or Category/Tags, each Taxonomy and each Custom Field) only once in the form. You would need to make additional custom taxonomies. This post tries to explain this a bit better (you can use a plugin to switch category terms from category to any new taxonomy that you make, so it is not so hard to do). It is a really awful preachy lecture I wrote:

Sorry about the tone, but the message is right and it links to good plugins (except taxonomy switcher I think).

IF you need to get one filter change to when another is set with an option, on the General settings tab:

Set Auto Count (both settings) to ON

And then in the Form UI:

In each field set Hide Empty to ON

    Hi,

Thank you for your answer. I’ve install the CPT UI plugin and create a new taxonomy, but I don’t understand how to add this new taxonomy to Search And filter.

Can you help me ? Thank you !

In the Form UI, drop a Taxonomy field into the form and find the taxonomy you created in the list to choose from.
