Hi, I’ve set this up to filter custom taxonomies in a custom post type named Case Studies.
I’ve already got a loop that finds the posts within this post type but I don’t know how to get this working with the filters.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a query for this custom post type, remove it.

This plugin will create the query for you, check this page on the 2 different ways you can display your results (also check the sub pages “with shortcode” and “as archive” depending on the method you take:

This should be what you need 🙂

Thanks, I’m using the shortcode method and have removed the query but it’s telling me there are no results.
I set up a new results.php within a search-filter folder as the docs said and added my custom post type fields and markup inside the loop but it’s not finding them.

Can you send me a link to this page?

    Thanks

    I wish I could, it’s currently a local build :-/

It is displaying them correctly now, although when I click the filters, it’s not updating the loop.

    Hi Mike

A quick way to test S&F is to follow the steps here under “a quick tutorial”:

    http://www.designsandcode.com/wordpress-plugins/search-filter-pro/docs/display-results/with-a-shortcode/

Embed both shortcodes in the same page. This should help with figuring out if there is an issue.

Without seeing a link I’m not going to be able to help much, if you can even get a demo of your issue set up online temporarily that would help.

    Thanks

Hi, I have used the shortcode method and it’s displaying the form and the results perfectly fine.
It’s only when I select one of the filters, I have them as checkboxes and it adds the query to the URL string ok and the results div fades out and back in but the results haven’t changed. Is there something I’m missing in the results.php file?

I’ll try and upload it to our testing server but it will need a user name and password that I can’t put on here. Is there a private message function?

    Cheers,
    Mike

Yup there’s a “private reply” tick just under these message boxes
