Hey Ross, thank you for this great plugin.
I’m creating a website for a dealership based on a template.
Search includes both taxonomies and post metas. When I search for metas only(price) leaving taxonomies untouched(all makes/models, all styles…) Search result page looks like a blog.
One of the taxonomies has to be choose for the search result page to look like a cars list.
Apologies for my bad English, here are couple of links:
    http://cars.arpidesign.com/?_sfm_mileage=74000+244000&_sfm_price=0+300000&sfid=2bi (meta only)
    http://cars.arpidesign.com/vehicle-type/suvs/?_sfm_mileage=0+300000&_sfm_price=0+300000&sfid=2bi (a taxonomy chosen).
Thanks for your help in advance and THANK YOU for the great plugin.

    Hey Vartan

    * Just moved this over to the support forum, not feature requests ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes this problem is easily fixed, please make sure that you tick the box “use custom template”, and that the filename is “search.php”..

They you will get correct formatting ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, it is a good idea to add in a “slug” so your results appear on nice URL.

    Thanks

    Thank you for response.
Actually i’ve tried that, but it makes worse and all the search results look like blog post after that:
    http://cars.arpidesign.com/search/
    http://cars.arpidesign.com/cars/?_sfm_mileage=0+300000&_sfm_price=0+300000

    Thank you!

In this case you do not like the search.php template…

You can try another template in your theme such as archive.php or index.php ?

Have a look inside you theme folder and try out the filenames of your different templates until the results are formatted how you like ๐Ÿ™‚

Let me know if this works

    Hi Ross,
I’m using a Pro version bought right now.
I have trouble with the search form. I verified that my theme use search.php as form but unfortunately not work.

Second issue: I’m not a coder then I thought that Pro version would have had the same layout (horizontal ) as the free one. Well, the horizontal one is good and simple for my theme, ho does I can use this layout with pro version ?
Or, is there any “how to” for modify css to modify the search form layout ? I want use it in the page and not in the sidebar.

    Free version layout image: http://screencast.com/t/6e6sCLA2rbyx
    Thanks for help
