Using Search and Filter Pro. I have multiple dropdowns in my search form, each with a number of distinct search terms. I’d like each term, when selected, to link respectively to a specific “results” page–one that is not an actual search results page per se but a regular page that appears to be a results page. So for example, if a user chooses “Arizona” from a “Choose State” dropdown, the page “arizona.html” opens…and if he/she chooses “Alabama”, then “alabama.html” opens, and so on.

Is this possible? The search terms populate when a taxonomic subcategory is created thru CPT UI.

    Thanks all!

IF, the term is a taxonomy, and you chose as the Display Results method ‘Post Type Archive’ there is an option below that choice to use Taxonomy Archives Pages for the results. That might be what you want?

Hi, Trevor—yes, I think that’s what I’m looking for…yes, the term is a taxonomy. So if a user pulls down from the menu, I’d like them to be taken to that specific page that would be assigned to that particular taxonomy. So…do I set up the landing pages individually as target pages, and then use the “Taxonomy Archives Page” selection to go to a specific page? While I’m waiting for a response I’ll play around with it a bit, creating a dummy landing page and trying to link it to each Taxonomic term.

    Thanks!!

Hmmm now that I look at it that might not be what I’m asking for…I’d like each taxonomic term in one of the pulldowns that I’ve set up to go directly to a specific URL, so even though it “looks and acts” like a search tool, it’s really a pull-down menu with each choice linked to a specific page…so it would not carry out any actual search function, per se. Kind of the way it works with a shortcode, but instead of every choice ending up on a specific page, each individual choice links to a pre-designed page…it just appears as though a true search has occurred. Know what I mean?

here’s my URL…hover over the “Find A Firm/Attorney” icon in the header and you’ll see the search form.

    thanks again!—

Ah, if you want that, then our search tool does not do that. Instead you would need a taxonomy menu system. The search emulates that, but is very resource heavy (as it does a search) compared to a simple menu.

Ok, that’s what I was afraid of… can you suggest any resources or plugins that you’re familiar with that would do this?

It would also need to embed into a tooltip, as shown in my URL

I am sorry, I do not.
