    Hi,

I use the Flatsome WooCommerce theme, on which I have installed SearchWp, which allows me to search within product tags as well in the search bar.

When I do a keyword search, I get the following URL (eg for keyword ‘violin’):
    https://storefront.intelligencebank.com/oeh/?product_cat=&s=violin&post_type=product

However, when I then use the search & filter form on my sidebar to filter results further, the keyword is cleared and not maintained in the search query, so I end up like filtering from all results again.

E.g. if I select 1 category, I end up with:
    https://storefront.intelligencebank.com/oeh/shop/?_sft_product_cat=actionmatters2

Is this type of implementation possible at all?

I need to use the top search bar from the home page (which is built in the theme, though gets overriden when installing searchwp), and then have the user be able to filter the results further (ideally, they can also add additional keywords). Note: I need to be able to keyword search within product tags, which I can’t seem to be able to do with the Search & Filter Pro search field element, as otherwise, I was going to look into whether I could pass this initial keyword entered on to the S&FP search field when displaying results.

I tried using Revelanssi instead to leverage your integration, but I always get 0 results when using this plug-in, and I’m not sure yet whether I can fix it, and how. Should I manage to fix it, would keywords entered in the main search bar (ie using revelanssi, but not from the search & filter pro form) typically carry on to the search & filter form, and/or it’s subsequent filtering results?

I’m trying to assess best step forwards as I can work with a developer to close the gaps (I’ve tried a dozen solutions but can’t seem to be able to achieve this two stepped process between the home page search bar and the filtering options out of the box with the Flatsome theme). Though Search & Filter Pro provides by far the best UX I’ve found, and would be keen to keep using it for that second part of the search workflow.

Thanks in advance for any insights you can share, hoping that others may have come across this scenario before.

    Best, Charly

Our plugin does not support Search WP. This may be an issue.

Also, you cannot integrate the search from your theme into our search. At this time, the Search & Filter plugin has to be in one place on the page (this will change in the next major release, V3, which will allow you to split the form up into parts).

You could probably replace the Storefront search with a simple Search & Filter form with just the textual search in.

Yes it will. We do not support the formatting options of Relevanssi though. Relevanssi builds an index based on your selections, and we use that index.
