I am trying to find a way to just search the “description” of my presenter’s content.
I have my content being displayed here: http://onlinelearning2017.ca/en/hidden-presenters/
So, for example, here is one of the presenter profiles:
Title: Salyers, Vince
Content:
Dean and Professor, Faculty of Nursing, MacEwan University
Edmonton, CanadaTrack 1 – Emerging Pedagogies and Designs for Online Learning
Meaningful Online Pedagogies and Designs: Learning from Undergraduate Students at Three Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions
There is no better way to know what works and what does not work in an online learning setting than to consult with the learner group. In a study on which this session is based, undergraduate students at three Canadian post-secondary institutions shared insights on the areas of course design, ease of navigation, resource availability and adequacy of support. They also offered general perceptions about online learning and the elements that contribute to a meaningful and satisfactory experience.
This session reviews the findings of that study, shares comments by the respondents and examines themes related to overall experiences of online learning.
________________________________________________________________________________________So, with the above example, I am using Search and Filter Pro to:
Search by last name (I used taxonomy to do this)
Search by Presentation Title (I used taxonomy to do this)
Sort Presenters by Track (I used categories for this)The last thing I need to do is Search description by keyword (which would be the last two paragraphs of the above). They are too long to add as taxonomy and I don’t want to search the whole content because I have other searches/filters already in place for that.
Please help!
Trevor(Private) May 12, 2017 at 12:24 am #108371Is that description in the main content field of the post editor? And only that? If so, then have a normal text search field, and install the free WP Extended Search plugin and in that tell it to search only that main content, or whatever other field it is in (the search plugin is flexible to allow you what to search in). I think that might be what you need.
