    I know I can customize the results output. Is there any similar way to customize the form output? I want to be able to display two dropdowns in a sentence like this:

    “Get help in the [select] industry working on a [select] project.”

    The selects filter the results by taxonomy.

    If there’s not an out-of-the-box solution can you suggest any workarounds?

    Once you have the controls sitting side by side (probably using Custom CSS utilising display: inline-block; on the <li> element), you would need to use the CSS pseudo before and after classes to add the surrounding text. You cannot add HTML in these psuedo classes.
